"i always wondered what this tower was, now i still kinda do"

there’s a certain building, or maybe a watchtower, in the middle of Kintamani. i always pass by it whenever i visit the lower area, but i never actually committed to stopping there. i guess this picture is proof that i finally did. it turns out to be a rest area with a surprisingly decent public toilet, and the highlight of the place is a three-story building with no walls. i’m guessing it’s used by scientists to monitor the volcanic activity of Mt. Batur every now and then, although i can’t really confirm that. by the way, you can also get a nice view of lake Batur from up there.
